GET HELP

ACTS 2:14-21

Following fifty-one injuries and five deaths from elevator incidents in 2016, New York City started an advertising campaign to teach people how to be safe and remain composed. When things went wrong, the worst instances were those who attempted to save themselves. According to professionals, the best course of action is to “ring, relax, and wait.” In order to keep individuals safe and rescue them from their situation, New York building authorities promised to act quickly.

In Acts, Peter addresses the error of trying to save ourselves. He explains that salvation is available for anyone through trusting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, not through keeping the Law, and that the Holy Spirit’s blessings were visible in those who called on Jesus.

We are powerless to free ourselves from the snare of sin and its effects on mankind. We can only be saved if we accept and believe that Jesus is the Lord and the Saviour.

Rescue comes to those who call on Jesus for help.

🙏 Intervene, Lord Jesus Christ, as Your servants call on You today and always.
