PSALM 13
Saul pursued David for nine years, as if he were “hunting a partridge in the mountains” (1 Samuel 26:20).
Prolonged affliction can be frustrating. We want a quick remedy and a speedy solution. However, certain things are beyond recovery. It is only possible to bear them.
Nonetheless, we have the option of complaining to God about our problems. Our heavenly Father desires for us to engage with Him in our trials. No one else understands His children as He does.
We return to our senses when we bring our problems to Him. In fact, we occasionally find ourselves praising Him for His goodness.
The apex of the spiritual life is absolute and unwavering trust in God’s love, not joyous pleasure in endless sunshine.
God’s love can be trusted even in our trials.
When all else fails, God’s love stands strong.
