FOLLOWING HIS LEAD

1 KINGS 19:19–21

Joan enjoyed attending Sunday evening services at their church as a child, which often featured inspiring talks from missionaries and guest speakers who left everything behind to serve God in challenging and unfamiliar places.

Elisha, like those missionaries, abandoned his life to follow God as a prophet after Elijah called him while he was ploughing in a field. Elisha sacrificed his oxen, burnt his ploughing equipment, and bid farewell to his parents without hesitation. Before this, not much was known about Elisha.

While not all are called to become full-time missionaries, we are all called to follow God and live as believers wherever we may be. Serving God can be exciting and difficult, whether at home or abroad. It is important to embrace the opportunities to serve God in our daily lives.

🙏Dear Lord, equip your children to be Your missionaries wherever You have placed them—near or far, at home or abroad.
