JOHN 14:5–14,19
David’s father criticised him as a failure and an embarrassment to his family. Despite excelling in sports, he felt like a loser. He contemplated his future and whether he could escape painlessly. However, he avoided discussing his feelings with anyone, as his culture taught him to keep his private heartache private.
David struggled alone after a failed suicide attempt. A visitor brought him a Bible. Opening to John 14, his mother read Jesus’ words, which he believed could be his only hope for a new way of living. He prayed for Jesus to give life as it is meant to be.
Life can be challenging, but hope can be found in Jesus, who is the way, truth, and life, and God desires a fulfilling life.
Only Jesus can give us new life.
🙏Thank you, Jesus, for dying for us and giving us eternal life. Transform our lives so that we may bring glory and honour to you alone.
