JOHN 1:1-14
I realise that managing a fish pond is not an easy task. Regular water changes are required. I give them antibiotics and vitamins. To make sure their tank is clean, I wash it. They must be fed every day.
You would think my fish will become grateful. Not so. They duck for shelter when my shadow appears over the tank. They cannot really know me; my acts were unintelligible. They were unaware of the compassion in my deeds. A kind of incarnation would be necessary to alter their perspectives. It was impossible for me to “talk” to them in a language they could understand without changing into a fish.
The Bible explains that God, the universe’s creator, performed something seemingly unthinkable. He was born on the earth in human form. The world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him (John 1:10). As a dramatist could become a character in his own play, God, who created matter, gained shape inside it. On the pages of true history, God penned a tale using Himself.
In order to give us the gift of eternal life, God entered human history. Now, we should no more be like the fearful fish!
🙏🏼All glory to You, Almighty God.
