FAR TOO MUCH FOR ME

MATTHEW 26:36-46

Someone once said to a man whose 12-year-old son had just died in a car accident, “God never gives us more than we can handle.” His words, which were meant to encourage him, instead made him feel miserable and made him question why he was not at all “handling” the death of his son. It was difficult to bear the pain. He was aware that his grief was overwhelming and that he was in desperate need of God’s protection.

According to Matthew 26:38–39, Jesus Himself desired a way out of His impending sorrow. But He voluntarily undertook suffering for our redemption.

We plead for God’s mercy when life becomes unbearably difficult, and He never lets go of us.

We can confront whatever is in front of us because God is behind us and His arms are beneath us.

🙏🏻Father, I feel vulnerable and weak. I know You are my refuge and strength, my help in trouble. I call upon Your name, Lord. Hold on to me.
