FAME AND HUMILITY

PHILIPPIANS 2:1–11

Many people are obsessed with fame, either by being famous themselves or following the lives of famous people through international tours, late-night shows, and millions of social media followers.

A US study ranked famous individuals using an internet-scoured algorithm, with Jesus as the most famous person in history. Jesus was not concerned about obtaining fame, as he never sought it during his time on earth. However, fame found Him as news about Him quickly spread everywhere.

Jesus attracted crowds, but when forced to become king, He slipped away. He was united with His Father, deferring to His will and timing, and humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death, even on a cross.

Jesus had no desire to become famous. He had a straight-forward goal in mind. As the Son of God, He presented Himself as the sin offering willingly, humblely, and obediently.

🙏 You are to be celebrated, Lord Jesus, above all others.
