ISAIAH 55:1-9
A church edifice was regrettably demolished as part of a beautification project. The doors of the empty church remained in place for several days after the windows were removed, even while bulldozers began knocking down walls. KEEP OUT! was written in giant, fluorescent-orange block letters on each set of doors around the church building.
Unfortunately, some churches that are open to the public send out the same message. There is no need for huge, fluorescent letters. Some folks say, “You are Not Welcome Here!” with just a single disapproving glance.
Of course, how people appear on the outside does not reflect their innermost intentions. The inner lives of humans is God’s primary concern. He sees far beyond people’s outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7), and He wants us to do the same. He also has insight into the minds of those who appear to be “righteous” on the outside but are “full of hypocrisy” on the inside (Matthew 23:28).
God’s message of welcome is clear, and we are to share it with others. “Every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters” He says to all who seek Him (Isaiah 55:1).
When we say, “God is love,” no one will understand what we mean unless we show it.
🙏🏼Thank You, Lord, for welcoming everyone into Your family, as You have done with us. Show us how to accept people as You do. May we reveal Your loving heart.
