2 PETER 1:1–10
G. K. Chesterton erupted in a sudden and loud outburst of laughter, causing the cows in a field on the English countryside to stare at him in awe.
Chesterton, a Christian writer and apologist was dissatisfied with his lack of white chalk, which he considered essential to his artwork. However, he soon realised that the ground beneath him was porous limestone, the earth’s equivalent of white chalk. He broke off a piece and resumed drawing, despite the disappointment he had felt before.
Believers have access to God’s unlimited spiritual resources, as seen in 2 Peter 1:3, as they gain everything they need for a godly life through their knowledge of Him, similar to Chesterton’s experience of white chalk and limestone.
If you believe you lack essential elements like faith, grace, or wisdom, knowing Christ provides you with everything you need and more, as through Jesus, you have access to the Father, who generously provides His children with everything.
🙏 Dear Lord, forgive us for overlooking Your power and trying to live in our own strength. We cannot do it. Thank You for providing everything we need.
