ENOUGH

2 KINGS 4:42–44

A family initially felt inadequate when asked to host a small group at their home due to limited seating, lack of skills, and concerns about food preparation. Despite these fears, they agreed to host the group, and over the next five years, they found great joy in welcoming the group into their living room.

Similar hesitation and uncertainty are evident in the man who brought bread to Elisha, God’s servant. The man questioned whether twenty loaves could feed so many people—one hundred men—despite Elisha’s instruction to deliver it to the people. From what he could tell, there would not be enough. God accepted his obedience-based gift and made it more than enough (2 Kings 4:44).

Understand that God wants us to give what we have in steadfast obedience, even in moments when we feel inadequate or that what we have to offer is insufficient. It is up to him to decide what is “enough.”

🙏Lord, enable me to give to You despite my concern that what I have to offer is insufficient and to trust that You will make it “enough.”
