MATTHEW 22:37–39
Emotion is a strong feeling deriving from one’s circumstances, mood, or relationships with others. When our emotions come to play, it can affect things around us for go or bad.
God’s love is unconditional, and it is not based on feelings or emotions.
The Greek term used for love in Matt 22:37–39, agape (ἀγαπή), has often been interpreted as a special type of love – one that embodies rational commitment, our actions, and our will, but not necessarily our emotions. It is a love irrespective of emotion (instinctive or intuitive feeling).
