ISAIAH 62:1–12
On Saturdays, her family watches her run with her high school cross-country team. After crossing the finish line, crowds engulf the athletes, often over 300. They search the crowd eagerly until they find her, eager to support her as a family.
After 70 years of Babylonian captivity, God returned the Jews to Jerusalem and Judah. He praised them and prepared their pilgrimage home. He reaffirmed their holy status and restored their honour with a new name, “Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted” (Isaiah 62:12). God sought them from Babylon’s scattered reaches and brought them back to Himself.
God’s beloved children, like the children of Israel, are sought after by Him, despite sin causing isolation. Jesus’s sacrifice rekindles our connection, and He eagerly awaits each of us.
🙏 Thank you, Lord, for seeking us.
