COLOSSIANS 3:8–17
As I was taking off the price tag, I grinned at the warning on the back of a cold-weather garment I had bought: “WARNING: this unique item of clothing will make you want to go outdoors and stay there.” An individual can endure and even flourish in severe and fluctuating weather conditions if they are appropriately dressed for the environment.
The Bible prescribes our spiritual wardrobe for followers of Jesus, emphasising compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, and love (Colossians 3:12-13).
God’s garments provide staying power in life’s storms, protecting us from adverse conditions at home, school, or work.
Following God’s instructions by dressing with these virtues does not alter the weather; rather, it empowers the wearer.
🙏Heavenly Father, help me to put on Your garment of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, and love, so that I am prepared for whatever life brings me today.
