ISAIAH 26:1–4
He wanted to achieve his target by all means. But two of his friends reminded him of the adage “Ruthlessly eliminate hurry” by Dallas Willard. This prompted him to reflect on his wasting time and energy and to seek guidance from God, trusting in His wisdom.
Rushing around frantically is the opposite of perfect peace, which comes from trusting in the Lord, who is the Rock eternal, and trusting Him with steadfast minds is the antidote to a hurried life.
What about us? Do we think we are rushing or perhaps impatient? Perhaps, on the other hand, we frequently feel at peace. Or maybe we fall someplace in the middle of the two extremes.
God’s peace helps us not to hurry. And the Lord gives this peace to those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in Him (v. 3).
🙏 Wherever you may be, I pray today that you will be able to put aside any hurry as you trust the Lord, who will never fail us and who gives us His peace, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
