CRUMBS OF TIME

DANIEL 6:10-23

Despite being extremely busy, a friend found time to stop by my family for a quick meal for a half-hour. We appreciated having him visit, but as I was eating, I reflected, “We only got the crumbs of his time.”

Then I realised how frequently God only receives the crumbs of our time.

Daniel had a hectic schedule. In the ancient kingdom of Babylon, he held a top government post; therefore, I am sure he had plenty to do. But he had grown accustomed to spending time with God, praying three times daily and giving thanks to God. This practice assisted him in forging a firm faith that stood strong even in the face of persecution (Daniel 6).

Regardless of how busy we are, God still wants a relationship with us. We develop a closer bond with God and learn how to become more and more like Him when we set aside time for prayer and reading His Word.

🙏🏻 Lord, we invite You to be part of our entire day—from the time we wake up until we go to sleep.
