ISAIAH 66:12–16
I was honoured to hold my friend’s adorable four-day-old infant. The moment I held the baby in my arms, she started to fuss. She became more and more agitated until I placed her back in the crook of her mother’s eager arm. As she fell into the safety she knew so naturally, she became calm. My friend knew just how to give her daughter a hug and pat her to make her quiet.
God provides comfort to His children like a mother, offering tender, trustworthy, and diligent care. He carries us affectionately when we are weary or upset. He promises to keep in perfect peace those who trust in Him and have fixed thoughts on Him (Isaiah 26:3).
The world’s troubles cannot cause discomfort when we know that God protects and fights for us as a loving parent.
🙏Lord, help us to look to You for our comfort in times of distress.
