ROMANS 6:15–23; ROMANS 8:2
Olaf Wiig, a New Zealand news cameraman, declared, beaming broadly, that he felt more alive than he had in his entire life after being abducted, held captive for thirteen days, and then freed.
Olaf’s joy serves as a reminder of the easy forgetfulness of our spiritual blessings. Christians often forget the pain of being held hostage by sin, leading to complacency and ungratefulness. However, a new believer’s testimony of God’s work in their life brings back the joy of being free from the law of sin and death, as described in Romans 8:2.
If freedom has become boring, remember that you are no longer a slave to sin but are freed to be holy and enjoy eternal life with Christ Jesus. Celebrate your freedom in Christ by thanking God for the things you are able to do as his servant.
🙏Jesus, thank you for our freedom.
