BY MEANS OF THE CROSS

2 CORINTHIANS 4:8–18; ROMANS 8:39

Thomas, one of my fellow workers, has a glass cross on his desk. It was given to him by his friend Philip, who, like Thomas, has survived cancer, to help him see things “through the cross.” A continual reminder of God’s love and good intentions for him is provided by the glass cross.

Paul’s life exemplified a cross-shaped perspective. He believed that God is working towards eternal glory for us, and we should fix our eyes on what is unseen, rather than what is seen.

Paul was able to forge ahead because he looked at everything through the cross.

🙏 Father, teach Your children who You are. Increase their trust in You. Fill their minds with Your perspective, and may they look at things through the cross, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
