BOTH WITH AND WITHIN US – AN ASCENSION CONTEMPLATION

JOHN 14:15-21; ACTS 1:1-12

Most young children weep on their first day of nursery school because they feel abandoned and helpless.

There are adults who have separation anxiety too. We experience times of separation from the people we love at every stage of life, sometimes due to distance or even death. Even though we may feel abandoned or lonely, we must keep in mind that God has not abandoned us. He vowed to constantly stay by our side. God sends the Spirit of truth, who serves as both our advocate and our helper (John 14:15–18). We are His beloved children.

I wonder how the disciples of Jesus felt as they left the mount of olives after His ascension.

We must develope confidence. Although we cannot see Jesus, we may feel His power as He helps and leads us each day as we read God’s Word. Let us give thanks to God for His marvelous gift of the Holy Spirit, who lives within and with us. Undoubtedly, we are not alone.

🙏🏻 Lord, thank You for being with us.
