ROMANS 5:1–11
A church has a welcome card that embodies God’s unconditional love and grace. “If you are a saint, sinner, loser, winner,” it reads, and then a long list of other descriptive words for those who struggle with life, such as “alcoholic, hypocrite, cheater, fearful, misfit… You are welcome here.”
We often accept labels and assign them to others, but God’s grace defies labels as it is rooted in His love, not our self-perception. Regardless of our self-perception, we can receive eternal life as a gift from Him. The apostle Paul reminds us of Jesus’ death for the ungodly (Romans 5:6).
The Lord invites us to come as we are, seeking hope, healing, and freedom in Him. He demonstrates His love through Christ’s death for us, demonstrating His willingness to accept us as we are.
🙏Heavenly Father, thank you for your amazing love in Jesus that defies our labels of failure or pride.
