2 TIMOTHY 2:15
Imagine a typical meal. Whether it is rice, or fried chicken with chocolate for dessert, one thing is clear: a healthy, well-rounded meal does not consist of a single carrot or apple – or even a whole plateful of them. We need variety.
The same principle applies to our spiritual intake. Many people only hear the Word of God in church on Sundays, or they read the Bible more often but rotate between a few favourite books. Such frail and unbalanced diets do not support a healthy relationship with and knowledge of God. In addition, such practices lead to diminished hunger for Scripture, resulting in further weakening of our desire to spend time with God in His Word.
We need a balanced diet of Scripture just as our bodies require a variety of foods to live and thrive. We must continue to immerse ourselves in God’s Word – from Genesis to Revelation for our spiritual health’s sake.
