JOHN 6:35
One of the most sensitive and controversial topics among athletes is athletics diet. Everyone has an opinion, yet many of these claims are unsubstantiated by scientific evidence.
One way out for most athletes is to consume whatever their trainer/coach approves.
As Christian athletes, we must continuously and rightly feed from God’s Word, the bread of life (John 6:35). Paul compares our lives to a race in which the winner receives a prize (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). We must do all we can to keep fit. When life’s numerous duties demand our attention, it is easy to lose focus. Daily life pressures try to dictate how we live, but we must respond like athletes, choosing to stay close to God, our trainer/coach, and following a disciplined training schedule.
Spiritual formation is for everyone, not just privileged Christians. In the race of life, we are all competitors. The disciple’s life is about living on purpose rather than drifting aimlessly. Take hold of God’s plan and prepare to win the race of your life.
🙏🏼Lord help us to keep to Your dietary plans.
