1 PETER 5:6-8
Parenting is amazing, beautiful, and rewarding, and it is hard work, even on the best of days. Add the times of illness or injury to your child, and it is even more challenging. Add your own mental health vulnerabilities to anxiety or depression, and it is tougher still. Children lean on dads and moms, and it is important for them to have something to lean on too.
As parents we need to lean on God when life is overwhelming because He is our strength, our lifeline and the one who directs our steps. He has the answers, when the mountain we want to move does not move, when the flood waters rise and there is no way out. We desperately need Him, we need His presence, His peace, we need Him to be our refuge and our shield when life is hard to get us through those days we just want to give up.
