ARE YOU BEING PREPARED?

1 SAMUEL 17:8, 32–37, 48–50

At high school, he spent more than two years working at a fast-food restaurant. A few facets of the work were challenging. He had to apologise to customers who expressed their frustration when he did not satisfy them. He applied for a computer job at his institution shortly after leaving. His experience working at fast food restaurants attracted the employers’ interest more than his computer skills. They were curious about his interpersonal skills. His bad experience equipped him for a better position!

David, a young shepherd, stepped up to fight Goliath. King Saul was reluctant, but David explained his past experiences of fighting lions and bears for sheep. Confident, he vowed that the Lord would rescue him from the hand of Goliath, proving his resilience and determination.

David’s humble beginnings as a shepherd prepared him to fight Goliath and become Israel’s greatest king, showing how God can prepare us for greater things.

🙏Lord, give us the strength to persevere through the difficult periods in our lives, knowing that You might be preparing us for something better.
