AN ALTERNATIVE TO ANGRY FEELINGS

PROVERBS 20:1–15

A man discovered his car was missing after mistakenly parking in a restricted zone. Despite the $600 towing and parking fine, he chose not to be angry with the tow yard worker. Instead, he wrote a humorous poem about the situation, which he read to the worker, who enjoyed it, preventing a potential confrontation.

The book of Proverbs advises against strife, which can either simmer under the surface or explode between disagreeing individuals.

God gives us the ability to live in harmony with others and to manage our anger without becoming furious. He who is in us helps us get past moments of rage. According to Psalm 86:15, he is gracious, compassionate, and slow to anger.

🙏 Dear Lord, help us to manage our anger in a way that does not lead us into sin.
