PHILIPPIANS 3:12–21
The Amazing Race is a reality TV competition where couples race through various modes to reach a designated finishing point in a foreign country, with the ultimate prize being a million dollars. The race involves various transportation methods to reach the finish line.
Paul compared Christian life to a race, admitting he has not yet reached the finish line. He emphasised forgetting past failures and striving towards the future. He did not let past failures weigh him down with guilt or present successes make him complacent, but instead pushed towards becoming more like Jesus. This approach demonstrates Paul’s commitment to the Christian life.
We are all in a race, despite past failures or successes, striving to emulate Jesus for the ultimate reward of eternal life, not for an earthly prize.
Never call it quits in pursuing Jesus.
🙏 Lord Jesus, help us to keep pressing on.
