GENESIS 28:10–17
Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden experienced the sensation of being on the far side of the moon for three days in 1971, while two crewmates worked thousands of miles below on the surface of the moon and his only companions were thick stars.
On his first night away from home, Jacob was alone due to his older brother’s threat to kill him for stealing the blessing. However, while falling asleep, he dreamed of a staircase connecting heaven and earth and heard God’s voice promising blessings through his children. Upon waking, Jacob realised the Lord was in that place, despite being unaware of it.
Jacob, isolated because of his deceit, found solace in the presence of God, whose plans are always better than our own, demonstrating that heaven is closer than we think.
