ROMANS 15:1–7
His leg was stuck between a commuter car and the platform while he was getting on a train. Almost fifty passengers lined up and, on a count of three, pushed against the train when safety officials were unable to remove him. Together, they managed to move the weight just enough to release his leg.
Paul, in his early church letters, emphasised the importance of Christian unity. From our text, he urged Roman believers to accept each other as Christ had, aiming to glorify the God and Father of Jesus Christ with one mind and voice. Unity with other believers allowed them to broadcast God’s greatness and endure persecution. Paul encouraged the Philippians to strive together for the gospel, knowing that they would pay a price for their faith (Philippians 1:27–28).
Satan’s attempts to divide and conquer are unsuccessful when we maintain unity of the Spirit through peace, with God’s help.
