GENESIS 41:46-57
Many residents of a small town in the aftermath of a bomb blast felt obliged to lend a hand. Some supplied free food at their restaurants for workers, while others donated blood for the injured. Others simply gave hugs or comforting words. Some people sent cash donations, while others provided counseling. According to their personalities, skills, and resources, people discovered ways to serve.
According to a biblical account of Joseph, he used his abilities to play a pivotal role in assisting people in surviving a seven-year famine (Genesis 41:53-54). In his situation, he had time to prepare because he predicted a challenging period. The Egyptian ruler Pharaoh appointed Joseph to oversee the 7-year period of preparation after Joseph forewarned him of the impending tough years. God gave Joseph the insight and discernment he needed to prepare his nation.
These stories reveal God’s love for humanity. He has prepared us and shaped us into who we are so that we can serve others as He directs.
Whatever is required for healing and progress can be provided through service.
🙏🏼Lord, use us in some loving way to do Your will here on earth.
