AGREEING TO DISAGREE

ROMANS 14:1–13

It is difficult to walk away from unending arguments over differing interpretations of the Bible. It is good when both sides agree to disagree.

Remembering that we will all answer to the Lord for our actions in our disagreements as well as our opinions is the key to agreeing to disagree, according to Paul (v. 10).

In fact, contentious situations can serve as opportunities to remind ourselves that some things are more significant than our opinions, even more significant than how we understand the Bible. If we have loved one another—even our enemies—the way Christ loved us, we shall all be held accountable.

It is good not just to agree to disagree but to do so with respect and love for one another.

🙏 May the Lord help you to be patient with and kind to those who do not agree with you about anything or everything. And may your act of love for them yield good results. Amen.
