ACTS OF FAITH

JAMES 2:14–26

A friend noticed a woman walking on the side of the road and offered her a ride. She was saddened to learn that the woman didn’t have money for a bus and had to walk home in hot and humid weather. She had also walked several hours that morning to go to work.

My friend applied James’s instruction for Christians to live out their faith through deeds. He emphasised the church’s responsibility to care for widows and orphans and the need for love over empty words in their faith.

Although we are saved by faith and not by deeds, we nevertheless practice our faith by showing others love and attending to their needs. As we travel through life together, may we, like my friend who gave the ride, keep an eye out for anyone who might need our assistance.

🙏Dear Jesus Christ, you performed the ultimate act by dying on the cross. May we always be grateful for the life-giving sacrifice.
