Spy Wednesday, from the Church’s tradition, is the Wednesday in the Holy Week, the day before Jesus was arrested. It was perhaps Judas’ last real chance to repent. But he wasted it.
As Lent comes to a close, it is a good time for us to ask ourselves what we have made of the season. Have we made real progress in putting sin far behind us?
Judas had his last chance to choose between Jesus and money. We do not know when ours will be. Even now, it is not too late for us to repent, choose Jesus, and begin again. If we fail to choose Him, we are as good as spies in the Church!
