A SAFE PLACE

PSALM 17:1–9

Growing up, my siblings and I enjoyed imaginative play, building forts and pretending to be safe from imaginary enemies. Years later, we watched children build their own safe places using blankets, sheets, and pillows, demonstrating the instinct for safety and security.

David, a singer-poet of Israel, sought safety in God (Psalm 17:8). Despite constant threats, David’s confidence in God remained unwavering, demonstrating his unwavering faith in His protection.

We are able to know that same assurance. We entrust our lives to the God who says He will never abandon us (Hebrews 13:5). Even if the world is perilous, our God provides us with assurance and tranquillity, both now and in the future. Our safe haven is in Him.

🙏 May God give you peace, strength, and help, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
