LUKE 5:17-32
John gives homeless and transitional house residents a job and a second opportunity by hiring them. “We take people no one else wants,” he claims.
According to Luke 5:17–26, Jesus restored the physical and spiritual health of a paralyzed man. After that miraculous encounter, Levi responded to Jesus’ call to follow Him and then invited his friends and fellow tax collectors to a banquet in the Lord’s honour (vs.27-29). Jesus responded to those who accused Him of hanging out with undesirable people in verse 30 by saying that healthy people do not require a doctor and that He had not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (vs.32).
Jesus extends His loving arms and provides a new beginning to anyone who feels like a “throwaway” destined for life’s garbage. That is why He came!
Salvation is receiving a new life; it is true freedom from the bondage of sin.
