EXODUS 33:18-19; 34:1-7
In Greek and Roman mythology, I noticed their moody and easily angered gods, who often destroyed lives when they were enraged. I initially scoff at this belief but later realised that my own view of God is similar, as I see Him as easily angered whenever I doubted or disobeyed Him.
Moses’s request for God’s glory in Exodus is appreciated, as he was chosen to lead a group of people who often grumbled against him. God responded with a demonstration of His compassion, graciousness, slowness to anger, and love, demonstrating His love and faithfulness.
God is not impulsive and works to make us more like Himself. We can see God’s glory in His patience, encouraging words, beautiful sunsets, and the whisper of the Holy Spirit within us. He forgives us when we turn to Him in repentance.
