PSALM 31:1–8
The Eddystone Lighthouse which was built in 1698 off the coast of Plymouth, England, has been rebuilt several times after storms and fire. Yet today, more than three centuries later, it still stands, shining as a beacon of safety for ships in dangerous waters.
David declares in Psalm 31: “Be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me” (v.2).
Like the steadfast Eddystone, God’s amazing hands never fail. He rescues us from hidden traps, strengthens our weary hearts, and surrounds us with His unfailing love. His fortress is unshakable, and His guidance endures through every storm.
