MARK 4:35–5:1
A plane ride became bumpy when the captain interrupted in-flight beverage service and asked passengers to fasten their seatbelts. The plane began to roll and pitch, and a little girl sat through the turbulence reading her book. After the plane landed, she was asked why she was so calm, and she explained that her father was the pilot and he was taking her home.
Jesus’ disciples, seasoned fishermen, were terrified by a storm that threatened their boat. But they learned that storms do not stop us from reaching our destination. They learned that following the Lord’s instructions does not guarantee that there will be no storms in our lives.
Whether the storm we are facing today is due to a horrible event, a job loss, or other obstacles, we can be sure that all is not lost. The storm will not bother our Pilot. He will get us home.
