1 PETER 2:4–10
Jane received a pink tulip bouquet and placed it in a vase. The next day, she noticed the flowers leaning to the side, reaching towards sunlight from a window.
We were made to be like flowers, and God has called us to turn to His love. Peter writes of the wonder of being called out of darkness into God’s wonderful light. Before we know God, we live in the shadows of sin and death. However, through God’s mercy and love, He made a way for us to escape spiritual darkness through the death and resurrection of His Son.
Anyone who places their faith in Jesus for the pardon of their sins will experience eternal life. Jesus is the Light of the world. The only way we will increasingly reflect His goodness and truth is if we turn to Him (Ephesians 5:8–9).
May we always remember to lean towards the Light.
