COLOSSIANS 1:15-20
A friend’s son wore a sports jersey over his school uniform to show support for his favourite team. He wore a chain with a pendant reading “Jesus” over his jersey, illustrating the deeper truth that Jesus deserves first place over everything in our lives.
Jesus is supreme over all creation and the head of the church, holding everything together. He is above and over all things, holding first place in all things.
The truth about our work is revealed when we give Jesus the highest honour in our lives. God’s principles should come first in how we treat other people, and we should put Him first in whatever we do to make sure He comes before anything else.
Jesus will occupy His proper position in our hearts whenever He becomes our primary source of inspiration in every aspect of life.
