PSALM 37:1-9
Attempting to stay current with events has its drawbacks because negative news tends to sell better than positive news. It is easy to get too worried about the unlawful conduct of people, groups, or governments that we have no control over.
David declares in Psalm 37 that there is no need to worry about evil people (v. 1). He continues by outlining some alternatives to having excessive anxiety. David basically offers a better way to both think and live.
News about things we cannot control gives us the option to set limits for our worries. Our view gets better as we rely on God, give Him control of our decisions, and rest in Him. We will learn that He gives us His peace in the midst of our troubles and sorrows, even though they may not go away.
🙏🏻Lord Jesus, help us not to worry but instead to trust and rest in You.
