GENESIS 3:1-10
The sound of their parents’ car frightened the two teenage boys. How do they intend to explain the disarray inside the home? No parties, no rowdy guests, had been their father’s clear instruction that morning before he and their mother left town. However, despite their father’s warning, the lads permitted the unruly friends to come and stay. The house was now disorganised.
After making the choice to disobey God, Adam and Eve must have felt that way when they heard the sound of Him coming. They hid themselves out of fear. “Where are you?” God asked (Genesis 3:9). Sin makes us feel exposed and fearful, making us more susceptible to temptation.
People are still being called by God and asked, “Where are you?” Many flee in an effort to avoid Him or drown out His voice. But God cannot be avoided; He is aware of our whereabouts. We can respond by praying, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner,” rather than running away in terror. (Luke 18:13).
🙏Where can we flee from your presence? We come to You Lord Jesus.
