AMOS 4:7-13
I frequently remind people that, by God’s grace, I will live to be 120 years old.
According to a book I read, scientists are quite close to significantly extending human lives. Some predict that in the near future, they will be able to grant us a 1,000-year lifespan!
But what difference does it make if we still die after a thousand years? Longer lives only postpone death rather than prevent it. It is still not the solution we require.
The Bible teaches that life continues after death. Instead, everyone will appear before Jesus, as promised. Those who put their faith in Him will be received into His heavenly abode. He will condemn those who rejected Him (John 5:25–29; Rev. 20:11–15).
Everything is put into perspective by this upcoming encounter with God. Therefore, the Bible provides everyone with the same message—”prepare to meet your God”—whether we live 70 years or 1,000. (Amos 4:12).
