JOB 42:1-3
As the plane descended, the flight attendant delivered the arrival information with no enthusiasm or interest, as if it were the thousandth time that day. She concluded with, “Have a wonderful day,” in the same exhausted, indifferent voice. Her cold tone was in stark contrast to her words. She said “wonderful,” but not in a way that conveyed any sense of wonder.
I am afraid that we often approach our relationship with God in much the same way: as if it were a routine. Bored. Uncaring. Uninterested. We have the blessing of being adopted into the family of the living God through Christ, yet there frequently appears to be little of the sense of wonder that should accompany such a tremendous reality.
Job questioned God about his suffering, but when He confronted him about it, he was humbled by the wonder of his Creator and His creation.
May God’s wonder capture our hearts. What a wonderful reality that we have been adopted by God!
Nothing can compare to the wonder of our God and His love for us.
