1 KINGS 3:16–28
A skilled doctor does not treat symptoms alone; he looks deeper to discover the real cause. True wisdom does not merely see what is obvious; it understands what lies beneath.
In 1 Kings 3:16–28, two women claimed the same baby. Solomon’s unusual proposal to divide the child revealed the genuine mother, who willingly surrendered her claim to save her child’s life. His decision demonstrated wisdom that went beyond knowledge to discernment, justice and fairness.
We need God’s wisdom to make sound decisions, especially when situations are complicated. Rather than judging by appearances, seek understanding and discernment. A wise person looks beyond the surface and chooses what is right and just.
