MATTHEW 21:1-11
People may become upset when they don’t receive the respect and regard they believe they are entitled to. Some shout angrily, “Do you know who I am?” You probably are not who you believe you are if you have to introduce yourself to people. In spite of the fact that He was nearing the conclusion of His earthly life, Jesus represented the complete opposite of this haughtiness and self-importance.
The people cheered when He arrived in Jerusalem. He didn’t come claiming exclusive rights; rather, He came in humility to surrender His life in submission to His Father’s plan.
Jesus commanded respect with both the things He said and the deeds He performed. He never demanded that others respect Him, unlike insecure rulers.
He deserves our devotion and our lives today. Do we know who He is? And what about you? Who are you?
🙏🏻Lord Jesus, may knowing You change every self-centered motive in my heart into a longing to live as You did in this world.
