MATTHEW 19:16–26
In 2015, renowned footballer George Weah publicly spoke about how faith in Christ gave his life deeper meaning beyond fame, wealth and achievement. His story reminds us that success cannot satisfy the deepest needs of the human heart. Everyone, regardless of status, needs Jesus.
In Matthew 19:16–26, a wealthy young man approached Jesus seeking eternal life. Though moral, respectful and knowledgeable about God’s law, he lacked a true surrender to Christ. When Jesus challenged him to place God above his possessions, he walked away sorrowful because his wealth held his heart.
Many people today appear religious, successful or morally upright, yet have not truly encountered Christ. Salvation is found not in good works but in following Jesus. As believers, we must faithfully share the gospel, remembering that everyone needs the Saviour.
