GALATIANS 4:4
It is true what they say: timing is everything! That is why Paul’s declaration in Galatians 4:4 is so fascinating.
A cursory look at history shows that Christ’s arrival was at the right time. Alexander the Great conquered most of the known world, carrying Greek culture and language with him. Following his death, the Roman Empire continued where he left off, expanding the empire under the uniting impact of Greek culture and language. The crucifixion took place under Roman rule, and Christ’s blood was shed for us. Good roads and a common language were created under Rome and this helped to facilitate the spread of the gospel over three continents. God’s providence had put everything in position for the appropriate moment to send His Son.
In everything, God’s timing is perfect. While we wait, sometimes wondering why He seems not to be moving on our behalf, keep in mind that He is working behind the scenes to arrange His moment of intervention at the perfect time. Believe in Him. He is aware of the time.
May God teach us the discipline of patience, for waiting is frequently more difficult than working.
