GALATIANS 6:1-10
Thousands of homes and businesses were without electricity for days after the city was hit by an ice storm. Many families were unable to prepare meals, so Fred and his family were forced to visit a restaurant crowded with hungry people who shared their predicament.
When a woman walked over to take their meal order, they realised she was not one of the restaurant staff. When her church group arrived for breakfast, they noticed how the staff were overwhelmed by the increasing number of new customers. They informed the restaurant management that they would be willing to assist by waiting on tables if doing so would lessen the workload and aid in feeding people.
Their readiness to help made me think of Paul’s advice to do good to everyone while we have the chance (Galatians 6:10). I wonder what could happen if we all asked God to reveal to us opportunities to serve Him and assist others today in light of the many needs around us.
🙏Dear Lord Jesus, kindly guide us as to how and where we might help others and ease their burdens.
