PSALM 145:8-21
One night, a thief was trying to break into my friends’ apartment. When he called the police to tell them about it, the operator reacted in an unusual way: “You have to call back in the morning. We are too busy right now.” Too busy? Busy doing what? The young man had done the right thing by calling the police, but for some reason his call for help was ignored. That kind of indifference is disturbing.
But indifference never occurs when we go to God in prayer. We may not always feel like God is listening, but He is. He cares and will respond. The Bible reminds us that we can take comfort in the fact that our God cares deeply about our concerns. The Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth (Psalm145:18). When we call Him, we will never get a disinterested answer.
Instead of distancing Himself from us when we cry out to Him, our Heavenly Father comes to us in our need. He is never too busy for His children’s prayers – He listens to us when we call Him.
We will never get a busy signal on the prayer line that connects to heaven.
🙏We thank You Lord for answered prayers. We know You are always there to hear us when we call on You. We are grateful for Your care.
