JEREMIAH 17:1-8
The long trail that leads to Kelvin’s house winds across a dry and desolate terrain. You cannot help but notice the striking strip of green trees and colourful plants winding across the ranch as you approach his house. The best trout river in the country runs through the land, providing an endless supply of fresh water to anything that grows nearby.
Jeremiah compares individuals who put their trust in the Lord to a tree planted by the river, which stretches out its roots (Jeremiah 17:8). Many may opt for the scorching heat and suffocating dryness of life without God, but those who trust in God will be vibrant and fruitful.
